"I love you" on the fitz phone…..
We’re releasing a special issue on Nelson Mandela commemorating his life in words and pictures, including tributes by Rick Stengel, Bono and Morgan Freeman. The cover features a 1990 photo of Mandela taken by Hans Gedda in Sweden during Mandela’s first trip abroad after his release from Robben Island one month before. This is the sixth time that Mandela has appeared on the cover of TIME. http://ti.me/IT3VdW

"Returning to Liv, she comes back to the hotel with breakfast for Mama Pope. Maya asks her to join her and asks her to talk about herself. Liv says there’s not much besides working. LIES. What you need to do, Liv, is talk about how the President of the United States treated you like the lone black checker that’s surrounded by red checkers in a game of Connect Four a.k.a. he hit it from the top, the bottom, and diagonally."
She broke through her shell, defied her instincts, let herself be vulnerable and feel, and then it turned out her mother is a terrorist who manipulated her, and the man she despises did everything in his power to protect her.
And she can still admit she needs Fitz and she wants Vermont and babies and a life that isn’t built on lies and shifting sands.
Somehow, defying all odds, she is letting this man love her. And that is a freaking miracle.
